Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The individual in this position will improve quality of medical education at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital Family Medicine Residency and Fellowships by working to develop, implement and maintain innovative methods for graduate medical education and faculty development. This person will apply education and evaluation expertise to initiatives and curriculum in the department, develop resident and faculty skills in evaluation, curriculum development and scholarly activity.
HOURS: This is a primarily daytime M - F role with occasional evening/weekend special event attendance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
- Graduate Medical Education
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development and revision for residents and fellows to be in complance with ACGME and ABFM requirements.
- In collaboration with advisors and residency leadership, develop and implement of Individualized Learning Plans for Family Medicine Residents
- Lead Evaluation and Feedback for Residents and Fellows
- Assist in Programatic Review
- Actively Participate in Clinical Competence Committee
- Support residents in their role as educators
- Support Scholarly Activity of residents
- Faculty Development
- With Family Medicine Faculty, design faculty development activities for the residency including workshops and retreats
- Assist faculty in curriculum development, adminstration and evaluation
- Assist faculty in evaluation and assement of learners
- Assist Program Leadership in adminstration and assessment to maintain compliance with ACGME, AOA, ABFM and other regulatory requirements for Family Medicine Residency and Fellowships.
- Scholarship
- Collaborate with residents, fellows and faculty in developing educational scholarly activities and projects.
- Support generation of grant applications to support educational programs
- Participate in implementation of scholarly activities and grants.
- Actively participate in department and health system committees and meetings including but not limited to:
- Weekly Faculty Meetings
- Education Committee
- Clinical Compentance Committee
- Program Evaluation Committee
- Graduate Medical Education Committee
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:
- Other duties as assigned.
- May maintain a limited clinical practice in discipline of clinical training

JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in Education or Medical Education or equivalent
- Professional experience with teaching, curriculum development, evaluation or faculty development
- Demonstration of scholarly activity
- Demonstration of proficiency with emerging technology, techniques and strategies
- Demonstration of working in dynamic, innovative and rapidly changing environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctorate degree in Education or equivalent
- 3 or more years of professional experience in teaching, curriulum development and evaluation
- Prior graduate medical education experience
